Hornady TAP PRACTICE ammo 223

What is this stuff comparable to? I see that it is steel cased and lacquered so..wolf? brown/silver bear?

Why?...I would just use cheap [fill in the blank] Bear (or brass PMC at about the same price) ammo, it will likely be just as good and much cheaper. Avoid Wolf.

My understanding is that Hornady buys empty primed cases from Barnaul (maker of Bear ammo) and then loads them in the US with Hornady bullets and US powders. So it should, in theory, be better stuff than Russian ammo. From what I've read, though, their quality control on this stuff isn't equal to their other quality control, and Barnaul's own ammo is quite good by Russian standards.

We shot a bunch of it (read: several hundred rounds each) in our most recent rifle training class. It works fine.
