When I was able to resume reloading after my medically-enforced hiatus, the clerk at the Academy in Frisco, Texas, recommended Hornady Unique Case Lubricant. At about $4 for a small tub, I figured it was worth taking a chance. It took me a while to discover just how little Unique was needed to lube a case, but once I did, I was hooked.
A major component of Unique is Beef Tallow.
After I retired and relocated to Arkansas, a border collie-terrier mix just showed up one day and took up residence. Today, I was resizing cases for the first time since she arrived and the dog discovered my tub of Unique on the reloading bench. I got to her before she ate very much of it, but she was insistent on thoroughly licking my fingers.
Lesson learned. Keep the Unique out of reach of the dog. I don't think it would hurt her to eat a whole tub, but it would bring an early end to a day of reloading.
