I picked up a box 120 gr. V Max bullets for my 7mm rem. mag rifles the other day and am getting ready to put some loads together. Has anyone had any experience with these in a high velocity setting. I'm more interested in how they expand on animals. So far as accuracy in concerned, I'm confident I can get them dialed in for the intended purpose. I've loaded with two other Hornady 120 grain bullets with excellent results on paper, even at 3400 fps., so I'm hopeful the V Max will be as consistent and maybe deliver a bit more expansion. Once I've got them dialed in I'm going to use them for long range coyote hunting, one of my favorite pass times behind the 7mm rem. mag. There is just something special about connecting with coyote at 500 plus yards and then seeing the spray that follows. I don't care who you are, that just makes a trigger finger start itching.

No experience with those, but being a V-max, they should fragment nicely, even at range. Now you only need to make sure that they shoot well enough in your rifle. I'm surprised that it's a flat base, but I see it has good reviews.

The Speer 110gr TNT in .284 has a decent BC and is designed to fragment as well as the V-Max.

Back in the day, I loaded the 100gr Rem Bronze Point in my 7mm Remag to near 3600fps. They were devastating. That bullet is not made anymore.

I have experience with them in .22-250 and 7mm mag. Basically at shorter ranges, they seem to drill a hole in the animals (ground hogs with the first and deer with the second) and keep on going. Get out well past 100 yards to where they slow down a bit and they seem to do more damage.

I love VMax they will explode prairie dogs at any distance I have shot them. I have used them on deer as well clean kills. I use them in a 22-250 and 243 and now 223.

I use them in 223 on coyotes. At 300 yds they have no mercy I load 55g vmax with 24g imr4895 seem to work great for me.
