Steyr AUG A3

I haven't made it to the range yet, but that will be taken care of tomorrow. Overall this thing feels like it is very solid. I'll get a range report posted asap.

Magazine changes don't seem to be too bad. It's not as fast as my AR or HK, but it's a lot easier than I anticipated it to be.

God I wish I could own one of those I live in California but that has to be my faovirte semi auto battle rifle next to the m14!!!

"battle rifle" is a made-up term with no "official" definition, but the unofficial/errornet definition seems to be a semi-auto rifle chambered in a full-power rifle caliber, eg 7.62 NATO. As such, his AUG would not be an assault rifle (as it is semi-auto, I assume), and not a battle rifle, either (as 5.56 is an intermediate cartridge). However, it would probably meet the legal defintion of "assault weapon". :neener:

Mike ;)

It's a new Steyr AUG that's made here to bypass all the bs ATF import regulations.

I thought the new ones were made under license by a different company under a different name.

The legal definition of an "assault rifle" is a pistol grip.... so ya know it's a load of s**t...
No. The legal definition of an assault weapon involves pistol grips. The military definition of an assault rifle is a select-fire rifle chambered in an intermediate caliber.

There are AUG clones made by MSAR and TPD, but this is a Steyr branded gun. They are made here by Sabre Defence for Steyr.

Mind if I ask how much?

They are $2,300 here at Scottsdale Gun Club..

I got it for just under $2k.
