Horse riding w/ firearms (Florida)

Me and my GF are going horse riding tomorrow for V-day, as she works at a horse farm in middle-of-nowhere Fl. The farm is on private land, but the trails run into the Grant-Valkaria public land area. She says that people hunt there, and there are hogs and deer etc.

What are the rules regarding firearms there? I cant find any GV ordinance pertaining to firearms, so Im wondering that the Fl statutes say about firearms on public land.

Can I open carry a handgun? (w/o permit)
Can I carry a rifle at all?

I emailed the Brevard county sherrif, but they havent responded to me at all yet.

The exemptions listed to the Fl statute prohibiting open carry are off hand: hunting, fishing, and camping, or while at your own home or place of business. You might be alright if you stayed on the private property and had the landowners permission but crazy as it sounds I can't find any statute that allows for open carry on private property not your own.

You would be wise to know if the horses are gun trained. Most aren't.

yes, the statewide prohibition on open carry. It is currently illegal statewide except for in this case of the listed exemptions.

BCSO emailed me back.
Turns out the "private land" is EEL (environmentally endangered land) and firearms are prohibited.

Oh well, If we want to shoot itll have to be at the horse farm

We didnt plan from shooting ON the horses. We were going to park(?) them and walk a little bit to shoot
