Well.....my sons rust bluing project has been postponed due to school/work. He started with the mag tube which came out REAL GOOD. Then College and several internships / coops has kept him real busy the past two years. So being the good dad I am, and being tired of the gun parts in my safe. I finished stripping and polishing the rest of the gun and am sending it off to Hot Flash Refinishing in Whitmore CA today to have hot blued. Hopefully I can get it back and have it assembled for when he comes home late Aug before he goes back to school.

Will keep you posted he Hot Flash does. From the few reviews I can find they do a good job.

Just got my parts back from Hot Flash Refinishing. Parts look GREAT. Deep and very even coloring (almost black). I polished down to a 400 grit parapet so ended up with a "field" finish. Look like a new gun.

That was a quick turnaround. Then again, all they had to do was to degrease and dip it into their bluing tanks. If they had to polish it, that would have taken a lot longer.
