If this is the wrong place for this question please pull it out. It's rifle ammo so I thought it might go here. I bought 700 rounds of hotshot about three years ago, then I noticed it kind of dried up, then when it came on the market again it cost alot more. I've never shot it. Is there anything superior about this romainian ammo? Why does it cost more? I shoot sks, not ak rifles for fun;why isthis stuff so expensive now? Thanks for any input.

Don't use

Recently a lot of people have been reporting blown primers and rupturing cases with damage to some firearms with HOTSHOT ammo. I also had problems with HOTSHOT 5.56 blowing the primers.

I shot a few boxes of it through my AK no problems, nothing special. Russian stuff is cheaper so I have not bought more. I think Century was importing and promoting Hotshot but dealers have been moving to Wolf, Bear, Tiger etc.

So far, sounds like time to open the can. Metal wise,chevyforlife21, the increase for this particular brand went up much higher than others. Thanks for the input.

Hotshot ammo is Century's private label. Who actually makes it depends on the caliber.
