Finally gonna take the plunge and compete...

What's you're favorite Houston Area IDPA club and why?

What part of town are you in? There's quite a few clubs. Off the top of my head, I can think of the Eastex, Humble, West Houston, PSC, and Thunder clubs. I shoot at Eastex on Mondays, mainly because that's the most convenient night of the week for me.

EastSide (Highlands(between crosby and baytown))

Have visited humble range and 1 of the thursday shoots Pretty nice range and seem like good guys.

Have visited 59 gun range (several years back) never met anyone who shoots idpa there.

Am thinking about attending the PSC match this Sat AM.

I am looking for a club with minimum of range nazi's/ubergamers and a more family oriented group as I have my wife more than half talked into participating as well (plus 2 of my teen age boys are gung ho)

59 would probably be the closest to you. Come out some Monday and try shooting with us.

PSC probably runs the biggest match. The match director is a great guy also.

Went to the PSC match on Sat (May 7) in Friendswood despite it being mother's day weekend and competed.

Bought myself a Comp-Tac Speed Paddle holster on Friday and spent about a half hour fri night practicing draw.

Had a GREAT time. Chatted with a few other shooters but except for some helpful advise on shooting during lateral movement no real in depth conversations. In fact don't remember any last names.

Now I need to practice head shots and shooting on the move.

I really like the range and the people I met there and will probably try and shoot monthly matchs.

Gonna try and make a match at East-Tex (at 59 gun range) to check them out.
