I saw a neat little gun at my local gun store yesterday. It was a suppressed Beretta 21a in .22lr. I held the gun and really liked it. I am considering buying a gun when my .22lr suppressor arrives.

What is the verdict on the Beretta 21a? Is it reliable? How many rounds does it hold? Anyone ever suppressed one?

Gunkid was a great proponent of the suppressed 21A.

That aside, I owned a couple that weren't suppressed and shot several others. On the whole they are nice little guns. I never saw a problem with one that wasn't traceable to the magazine and correctable with repair/replacement of same.

Gunkid was a famous troll.

Magazine issues aren't what I would call common with the 21A. The ones I owned personally were quite reliable as .22lr pocket guns go. Out of the ones I fired but didn't own, all but two were reliable. Both had magazines with a notably soft spring. With one of my magazines in them, they worked. I advised the owners to replace the spring or the whole magazine.
IMO, everything happens very fast with such a small pistol. A magazine spring even a little soft in a 21A doesn't get a chance to fully elevate the cartridge before the slide is coming back and misfeeds result.
