DETROIT -- A 17-year-old girl who claims she was raped and kidnapped across state lines spoke in a Detroit court during Tuesday's preliminary hearing for the man she says is responsible.

Henry Davis (pictured, left), 32, of Chicago, was charged with at least nine different counts for allegedly leading a sex ring in Detroit and possibly Chicago, WDIV-TV in Detroit reported.
The 17-year-old girl from Cleveland was in Detroit Tuesday to explain to the court how she was taken to Chicago and Detroit and raped. She said she had to have sex with Davis' brother in Chicago and with Davis in Detroit.
The girl said she was put in a room at a Detroit house and was told to take her clothes off. She then allegedly had sex with Davis.
The girl said she was crying during the ordeal.
During cross examination, the defense attorney determined she never told Davis or his brother "no" during the sex acts, the station reported.
Davis allegedly had bases in Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago and other cities.
Wayne County Prosecutor Mike Duggan said that Davis would lure girls into the ring with the promise of making money by selling jewelry. He said it operated much like a cult.
Several girls were rescued earlier this month when police raided a house in the 4600 block of Nottingham in Detroit. The suspects, Davis and a 17-year-old Detroit youth, were taken into custody, the station reported.
The suspects are being charged with one count of criminal sexual conduct. They also reportedly face federal charges for transporting the girls across state lines.
The scheme was discovered when the 17-year-old girl begged a security guard at a Foot Locker store in Highland Park, Mich., for help. Police said guard Dorian McConnell became suspicious when the two suspects walked into the store with three teenage girls -- a 15-year-old from Royal Oak, Mich., a 16-year-old from Detroit and the 17-year-old from Cleveland.
McConnell held the girl and called Highland Park police, who then contacted Detroit police and they reportedly took over the case. Detroit police said that they executed a search warrant at the home on Nottingham Street.
Investigators believe the girls were among several being "transported between locations ... being sexually assaulted, made to dance in after-hours clubs and to prostitute themselves," said Cmdr. Gerard Simon of the Detroit Police Department.
The alleged ringleaders reportedly took the girls to the Foot Locker to buy clothes for them as part of a punishment and reward system, according to police.
A witness also came forward to help bust the sex ring, according to police.
A 24-year-old Westland, Mich., woman contacted police after she recognized the names in the story on local news stations, WDIV-TV reported. The woman told police she was kidnapped when she was 17 years old, and taken to Chicago for two months.
The woman escaped and returned back to Detroit, but she said she has remained silent because she was afraid that she would be beaten, according to police.
The leaders of the ring were reportedly playing videotapes of girls being abused to show the consequences of running away, or talking to police, the station reported.
Duggan said that the ring dates back to 1995. Other girls had reportedly come forward over the years, but police did not have enough information on the case.
