I have been watching their previews on youtube, something of look a little dated, but the information seems relevant. How do they rate?

IMO they are only good for general info. None of them really tell you the real indepth info of building a gun or doing a trigger job. Which AGI video do you need maybe some one here can suggest a better book.

There was a few, collector rifles, fighting 870, Sig, XD, I personally am interested more in the information side of things, rather than trying to do my own trigger jobs/rifle building. Are they overall a good value? thanks

I have a few, and they are good though some seem more useful than others. For example, the 3rd gen S&W autos one was helpful to me in completely taking down and reassembling my 6906, but the AK video didn't have as much info I could really use. Not surprising, since it's an AK and wasn't a building video though. I also got the Garand building video and I found that much more interesting, even though I'm not going to build a Garand any time soon.

Well, last I saw they were $35 each and I was interested in FAL and 1911. I got the FAl one and it was nothing I didnt already know from reading. I thought that particular one was a waist of money. I skiped on the 1911 vid. For newer stuff like the XD it might be a pay off. As for the 870 I learned by taking mine apart and learning by observing. Sorry if this fails to be informative. But yeah might be worth a look on the xd.

I bought the HK-91 vid -They did not show much about the gun -They spent a bit too much time talking about cleaning. The never told about removing and replacing a barrell . As a gunsmithing vid I would expect that info!

I only have one. It's "Building the Ultimate 1911 course Volume 2"

I found it extremely detailed. I have both Kuhnausen 1911 books and I wouldn't be able to build a 1911 without the video. the Kuhnausen books are like a supplemental, filling in where the video might lack.

If you have a need or want to learn about a specific gun or series they are worth the money in my opinion. Particulary if you are new to the gun tinkering field so to speak. ( or want to do your own detailed cleaning)

I only have one myself and although it taught me little, ( I have much more experience than most with the insides of firearms) it is a handy reference, and I see it as being a rather complete guide to the particular gun(s) it was made for.

If your not familiar with the mechanics of a particular firearm, I wouldn't set a screw driver to it without a guide of some nature. They are too cheap to pass up for the info they give.

I have known the riflesmith in some of their videos personally for a couple decades, worked for him for a while as a machinist. He is really good, one of the best in the country, in my opinion. I have a rifle he built about 20 years ago and it still shoots great.

That being said, the one AGI video I saw, by a different gunsmith, I was specifically unimpressed with. It didn't cover everything I thought it should, and was way too basic, with not enough in-depth info for me.

If you want to try before you buy, smartflix.com rents them for about ten bucks. I have found that some of them are very good, and others will leave you wanting your time back.
