Well most felt the same way. May not keep rising but aren't going to tank much more, IMHO.
There are changes now that didn't exist 10 yrs and back further. Guns have come out of the closet, "so to speak". It used to be that most folks wouldn't talk about them as freely as now, "the masses". I know from my own experiences up North, if you carried, you didn't broadcast it nor where there all these shooting sports. Now the yuppies have adopted shooting as a means of self expression.
The exact opposite is true. Not too long ago guns were commonly found for sale in hardware stores, gas stations and sporting goods shops. Large gun cases with a family's heritage arms would often be right in the living room.
Here in CA, guns were pretty much considered to be tools before the Stockton School shooting of 1986. THEN guns became a political issue and they became increasingly verboten. Guns may be talked a lot more today in the news, but often it's in conjunction with killings.
