Hi!
If anyone here can teach me how I can disassemble remington 597' magazine.
Because today when I shot it, the ammo couldn't come out, I think maybe I need to disassemble it and clean it ( I bought this gun one year ago and never disassemble the magazine).the instruction book said:
Depress the sides of the magazine box and pull the magazine bottom downward and off the magazine , As the spring becomes exposed, hold it with your thumb to prevent it from flying out.
but I don't know which is " magazine bottom", the only one part which I can push ( not pull ) is a rim which connect to spring.

Thanks!

my ex girlfriend had a 597, and the way we disassembled magazines for cleaning was to use a flathead screwdriver to help pop the plastic baseplate off. There should be a little gap at one end of the magazine allowing you to get the screwdriver in there. I was a little worried of breaking something, but well, you can get a replacement mag for 10 bucks if you mess something up.

dont do it1 send them back to remmy they will give you the latest generation of the mags, with smaller width bay, and harder spring.

The instructions posted by the OP are for an all plastic mag. If it's a newer metal one, the screwdriver trick works nicely. And yes, it does help to clean them, just don't oil them, and make sure you get the spring back in properly - if it's put in backwards you'll have trouble getting more than 8 into it.
