I recently bought a Savage Axis Heavy Barrel in .223. The total after rebate and taxes was $215. I purchased a open box Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 4-12x40 with Mildot reticle from Optics Planet. Optics Planet has a 10% off deal through 31 Dec. Also, Optics Planet bundled the scope, a $75 gift card, and OPMOD Browning knife as a package for $477. With the 10% off, the total for the three items (scope, gift card, and knife) was $430 shipped. I am going to use the gift card to buy bases and rings for the rifle. Do you have any suggestions for bases/rings? My main concern is making sure the bolt clears the scope. Thanks.

Sounds good to me!

Leupold STD bases have always worked well for me if I am not going for the pricier ones. Seekins and ken farrell are good mid level mounts.
