I thought I was doing a good job cleaning, scrub with a nylon brush and use hoppes, the barrel looked clean...then I used this yellow "lead remover" cloth I bought at the gun store and ran it thru the glock barrel...BLACK! same with the revolver barrel and cylinders. After an hour or two it's not black but still dirty....wassup?

Your barrel is probably clean. Those things turn black from contact with about any metal, just like Simichrome, Nevr-Dull and most other metal polishes.

Go to your grocer and buy soap free copper scouring pad. Chore Boy. Wrap some around an old worn bronze bristle brush. That'll get the lead out and it's cheaper than a Lewis Lead Remover.

I shoot a few guns and I'm pretty good about cleaning them, but I can't remember ever getting a truly 100% clean patch through the bore. It used to bug me more, but I've come to realize that the extra cleaning probably does more harm than good. Just do a decent job cleaning the gun, finish with a bit of oil, and leave it at that. Maybe every year or so, depending on usage, give it that little extra cleaning with Sweets or Shooter's Choice copper removing stuff, but even then remember that over-cleaning can do damage.
