How do I identify a Yugoslav Mauser

I am looking at buying a Yugoslav Mauser for $329 however I don't really know much about them. Is there a way for me to find out any other information about this gun before I make a decision. I know that there are ways to identify other weapons such as a mosin nagant online but I'm not sure where to find it.

There is a Yugo Mauser subforum. The stickies on that subforum have a lot of indentification information. And from there you will probably be able to find links to other sites with good information on identification.

Which Yugo are you considering? I have an M48 in unissued condition that shoots very nicely. My wife got it for me after she saw me ogling the Big 5 ad.

$329 is quite high for a Yugo, unless it's something special. It would also help to know what state you're in for regional pricing.

You can, but it probably won't help identify it. There are several models of Yugo mausers, most of which are going for much less than $329.
Read up that link mentioned a few posts up, it will give you a quick education.

That's about $120 higher than you should be paying unless it's documented as belonging to Tito's personal bodyguard or something.
