How do the aytomatic weapons laws work?

I have heard numerous things on how the laws for one works... Can a civilian purchase a full auto?> or one with burst? or is it semi-auto only?

also can someone explain exactly how this works and how to do it?

I have heard that I cna get a full auto weapon, and then I heard I cant?

Yes you can buy full auto. I'm no expert so I'm not going to go into details. Basically the firearm has to have been made before a certain date (1985-ish, I think???) and you have to get permits from the government to do the transfers. Expect to pay a LOT of cash out....

There are also state/local laws that may preclude you from buying one, so after researching the ATF and the law from 1986 check with your local LEO. (You'll need his signature on your paperwork anyway) If you CAN buy one then it's definately not cheap.

civis may buy automatic weapons that were made and registered (via a tax) before 1986.

the Tax was started in 1934 under the NFA ( National firearms act)

if you find a Full auto you want. you have to..

make sure its legal to own in your state, which may include a state machinegun license
make sure it was made AND REGISTERED before 1986
you then apply tot he ATF to buy the MG. and pay a 200$ tax. if aproved you may have the weapon sent to a NFA item dealer. he will do the actual transfer

because no new MG can be made for civis, and millions of old ones who where not properly registered are off limits,even the cheapest made legal full autos start around 5-10k $ BEFORE the 200$ tax

complete and total violation of a free market if iv ever seen.

I think you will find each state is different. If you live in CA forget it. If you live in KS... lucky you. Kansas dealers and private citizens can own automatic weapons, silencers and short-barrel shotguns after July 1

The cheapest level of machine gun ownership is M11s and Stens they go from $3-5000.

An AR will cost you from $10-15000 depending on how it was converted.

you need to check with local laws and work from there I know I can legaly build a full auto firearm but its going to coast major money like more then I can spend so I hope you have money if you plan to do this
