If I could not modify the Glock I probably would not own one. The trigger is just too heavy, grip too slick and sights awful. As a reloader the cost of reloading doubles when the only bullets you can safely shoot are FMJ or plated. Even the moly coated by Precision are about as much as Montana Gold Bullet Compay's shipped.

Here is what I change on my Glocks,

1. Factory 4.5# connector
2. Grip tape on the grip
3. 10-8 sights
4. Aftermarket barrels on my G20 to preserve the brass and one on my G17 to shoot lead.

So what say you? Stock or not?

I trade out serrated triggers for smooth (1), swap in NY-1 trigger springs (2), and I add a plug to the hole (3). Sights when I get around to it, but the dot in the bucket is actually decent for a stock sight; better than 3 dots.

My Glock 17 is stock-ish. Never saw the need for grip tape, but mine is of the RTF2 variety. I do have night sights, and the Glock 34 extended controls, though.

Heinie sights and a .40 conversion barrel for my 29.
Oh yeah, Pearce +0 pinky extensions for a three finger grip.

I have some stock and some slightly modified, so I voted middle of the road. HD and carry guns have night sights, lasers, and plugs. The rest are stock.

All of my Glocks are stock with 4.5 lb factory triggers.

I have Lone Wolf barrels for each, but I don't consider that a permanent modification as I drop in the factory barrel after each range session.

I do have +1 Pearce grip extensions for G27 magazines.

Slightly modified for me. With both my G17 and G19 I've added Trijicon night sights and extended slide stop, and swapped the serrated G19 trigger for a smooth G17 trigger. Considering adding a Crimson Trace laser to the G17 which serves as my primary HD gun.

All my Glocks are set up the same: night sights, Wolff recoil springs and guide rods, butt plugs, and the abominable finger grooves (on those that have them) have been removed with a Dremel. The G26 has Pearce +1 extensions on all magazines. The actions are all stock.

Smooth trigger from a g17 and aftermarket sights, that is all I want. I like heinie's or 10-8's. I like a smooth black rear sight and a tritium dot up front (though my 26 wears a bras bead up front), no rear dots for me please.

I recently drank the kool-aid and bought my first glock, a 23. I love this gun, and I shoot it the best of any handgun I own. Mine is stock except for the tru dot night sights and will probably stay that way except for the 9 mm conversion barrel I am wanting for range play.

I put grip (pinky) extensions on all the magazines for my Glock 29. I think about changing the sights and replacing the recoil springs (3000+ rounds) but so far haven't. I imagine the first thing I do will be replace the recoil springs and get a conversion barrel- either.

I'm OK with the stock trigger; I had a lightened one on my 34, and while it was lighter, it also felt more mushy. I prefer slightly heavier, but with a cleaner break. Slick grip, I agree. I don't find the stock sights awful.

It sounds like you're shopping at the wrong places for plated bullets. Have you tried berrysmfg.com?

One can't even really add grip tape to a G4 and know that it is going to stick.

I get your point though.

I think the solution is to have a little imagination and buy a striker-fired gun other than a Glock. Rugers are about the same price and are better in many regards. Walthers and better in nearly every respect. Not as much aftermarket, but since they are done better to begin with, it doesn't matter.

All my Glocks have aftermarket sights, all have Factory 3.5lb. connectors and NY-1 trigger springs and all have accessory barrels for when I shoot plain hard cast lead bullet handloads.
Other than that, the guns are basically stock.

The only modification I perform is to install night sights.

The rest of the standard Glock is decent and good enough for my normal defensive carry needs.

Then again, I'm a Glock armorer and don't get involved in modifying them or installing a bunch of aftermarket parts. ;)

I've generally found that more owners and shooters could use some "modification & upgrades" in their skillsets in order to become better shooters, so as an instructor that's where I tend to put my attention. :scrutiny:

G-19

I did the 25cent trigger job and put in a KKM barrel so i could shoot lead.. I have some nice guns but I find I like shooting my Glock-19 the most.. I don't know why..
Precision Delta has 9mm-115gr FMJ for $76/1000, free shipping..

Welcome to the club, enjoy your kool aid.

My 19 is a long way from whatever that whole "Perfection" motto means, but it is one of my top 2 pistols to shoot. I took a friend's cz-75 for a test drive, it may tie the glock 19 for me....but I'll never know until I buy one and run a few 1000 down the pipe.

I never understood the ny trigger spring. I tried them and absolutely hated them. I gave two of them away on one of those pay-it-forward threads.

Mine are all stock right now. I may grind off the finger bumps on my 19 if the Pachmayr grip glove in the mail doesn't fix that issue...the grooves don't line up with my fingers. The finger grips on my 21 line up just fine an my 17 is gen2 with no finger grooves.

Stock with factory night sights and RTF, otherwise, added night sights, grip tape or stippling. No need to mess with the factory triggers.

I really like the Gen 3 RTF, of course its now gone. As are the factory night sights for us lowly civilians.

i would say very lightly modified. mine all get a good polishing of the trigger parts and a plug. my glock 22 came with factory night sights which i like, but my 27 has the standard "bucket and dot" sights. i just havent gotten around to replacing them yet.

My Glock 19 has RTF2 frame, so no grip tap would needed.
Modifications that I made:
- Extended slide release lever
- Front sight changed to HIVIZ
- But plug insert :) you know what I mean...

Stock works for me, with the exception of grip sleeves and grip plugs. I'm considering trying a lighter connector at some point, and perhaps even a LWD extractor to replace my MIM extractor in my G27.
