How do you neck size for .204 Ruger???

So I want to try only neck sizing to save brass life and hopefully improve accuracy. But the question is how? I have found that I can't deprime my 204 brass with out using my full length sizing die, because my lyman universal depriming die won't do 20 cal. and I can't find one that does. So how are you guys that are neck sizing for sub 22 cal cases doing it?

See if your FL die will remove the primer before it actually does any sizing I think it may.

You can always remove the deprimer assembly and install it in a different caliber sizing die, making your own. If I recall RCBS makes a universal deprimer for the 20 cal.

For best brass life use a bushing die. But there is extra case prep you need to do prior to know what size bushing to use. Your wall thickness of the neck must be true for best results. With the bushing die you do not need to use the internal neck sizing that comes on your FL sizer. Then you will need to do a FL every so ofter to bump the should back. On go NS non bushing type which uses the sizing plug.

I do not neck size my 204 Ruger, but then my 204 Ruger is an AR-15.

The Lee universal say's 22 cal and up as does the RCBS. I'll have to check on T-bran's idea though.

You can go one more step and get it with a factory crimp die also.

No need to spend money on a crimp die for the .204. I use the Lee collet die in station 1 of my Dillon. I also have a Redding (or RCBS don't remember which) neck sizing die and a Forster bushing bump die. I just ordered a Forster Benchrest FL die set.

My primary .204 is an AR but I've found that because of the fairly straight case walls and the relatively sharp shoulder, I can get away with only FL sizing every 2nd or 3rd loading.

Is there any reason that these Lee dies won't work in my RCBS press? I have read somewhere, something about a "Floating Press" that somehow self aligns ???

You're talking about a forster coax. They're worth the money too.

And, no, there's no reason that the Lee dies won't work with your press. Dies are fairly universal.
