I think one tends too loose by buying the spray can of Break Free C-L-P,
as each can always seems too quit spraying before its empty~!

Pump spray bottles.
I bought some for $2 at the hobby and craft store the other day.
Or save the ones when original product runs out.
I have put just regular Radiator Specialty "Super oil" or Singer sewing machine oil, Dexcron II, IIE ATF fluid, Isopropal Alcohol, Syntec 0w-30 Syntec, or lately Ballistol in one to spray when a spray needed.
Sometimes I want to spray "up" or "over there" and since I mostly buy liquids for all the aforementioned reasons, works for me.
Fixed a squeak up under and over yonder and "up" on mom's car, I can cover a shovel, hoe, axe head faster with a spray too...and I am not going to stand there on a roof applying ATF one drop at a time from a Zippo Lighter fluid tin I keep some in for a Vent/ turbine...not with the wind...get upwind, spray that sucker using a former Formula 2000 vinyl protectorant spray bottle...I may want to skydive, getting blown off a roof is another entirely different dealie...

Been using CLP since the late 80s after being exposed to it in the Marines. Works great. I use old toothbrushes for a liberal soak and brush of action components, a quick blast down the chamber followed by a good bore brushing.
Then I'll blast clean with Gun Scrubber or other acetone-based product.
Then a light patch down the bore and wipedown with CLP again.
Alternately / Worse, I've taken to a simple function-cleaning of action, chamber and bore, and put'em up without getting them 100% clean. Only treat the bore with copper solvent, etc and go for the 'patch and q-tip until they come up perfectly clean' every 5-6 range trips.

Used to have an aerosol can, but like others, it was a little too foamy and I always got too much. But I discovered it works better than WD40 at loosening rusty nuts on a car

I use CLP in the pump bottle myself. Spray is too messy, and like said before seems to stop before the can is even empty.
