An HP-35 (Browning HiPower) is nearly identical in size and weight to the CZ-75. IIRC, the Koucy brothers stated that the Browning was one of the inspirations for the pistol.
The HP has a much shorter slide and frame, and is a little shorter overall. The CZ is also a bit thicker, and I find with most grips the BHP is thinner in that area as well.
Hi-powers ergonomics are about perfect for a 9mm. They carry well and are very comfortable in the hand. Think of them as a slightly scaled down and streamlined 1911 in 9mm with a higher capacity. Beautiful design.
I can tell you that a full-size CZ75B is about the same size as a full size Springfield 1911-A1. With both wearing stock grips, the CZ is about 1/10" thicker at the grip (which is the widest part). The CZ is just a little shorter in length because it's barrel length is 4.7" versus 5.0" for the Springfield.
As you can see I've shot it enought o wear the bluing off the grip. Broke an extractor after several thousand rounds. Simple to replace. No problems since.
Only mods are a C&S safety, disconnector removed, Houge grips.
These are all within fractions of an inch of each other in size. 1911s and BHPs often fit in each other's holsters. The Glock, having a polymer frame while the others are steel, is quite a bit lighter.
