Ruger P 95 and P 97

I have a P 95. It shoots nine mm. just fine. The P 97
shoots well and is accurate with my hand loads.

I think the performance of both is excellent.

I have said repeatedly on these boards that I love my P90 to death, and I wouldn't choose another .45 over it. One thing that I did that most definitely changed the gun for me is I took off the craptacular grip panels and installed a set of Hogue wrap arounds. My P90 INSTANTLY became a better gun. Now, thats subjective, but I see enough of them out there with wrap-arounds that I can't be the only one that thinks that. On the subject of your 10/22, I would point out that if you are using mags with plastic feed lips, your problem isn't going to get better. Ever. Over the years, my dad has bought, at a considerable discount, probably 10 10/22's from different guys, and the only flaw in them was plastic magazines. Pop in the steel-lipped version, problem solved. Additionally, I almost hate to say this for fear of being mocked and derided, but I have never actually cleaned my 10/22. I have run the (very, very) occasional patch down the barrel, but as far as getting into the chamber, I have never done it, and I have shot this particular 10/22 for almost 25 years now, and might I add, with the same magazine. My dad and I are huge 10/22 fans - between the two of us, we have probably owned around 100 of them. Well, I have owned 4, dad has probably bought and sold 96 (haha), but we have honestly never had one act like what you describe. Perhaps you got a lemon, as that happens with any large manufacturer, but I wouldn't give up on the model because one is bad (not that you said you were going to, but just in case). By the way, with my stock "dirty" rifle from the bench, I can put all 10 shots inside a 50 cent piece out to 50 yards, and I have made considerably longer shots with it, although I recently lost an informal match with my buddy, but that was my fault, not the carbine.

Love my P-90TH..very accurate and never whines about what I feed it.
Love my P-95 (after the trigger job)...never whines about ammo either!

I 've had other brands of handguns...none as reliable as the Ruger's.
