How is NIKON's scope customer service compared to Leupold?

I'm going to buy several new scopes to standardize on one scope and reticle for all of my rifles, so I invested a little time in research.

Currently, all I use are Leupold scopes. In my opinion, Leupold set the standard on quality and customer service.

That said, I like the price/performance characteristics of Nikon, and the ones I had a chance to demo seem to be of great quality. I could save a ton of dough by buying Nikon scopes instead of Leupold, but still have very high quality scopes.

The final decision on whether to switch to Nikon or stay with Leupold is based on customer support.

Several years ago, when I went through a similar process, I was left with the impression that Nikon scopes had terrible customer service. Long delays in repairs, inability to call tech support, etc. Nikon's bad internet forum reputation led me to buy five or six Leupold scopes over the last few years and I could not be more happy with my purchases.

Has anyone had recent experience with Nikon's customer service? Please share your experience here.
 
I just had an experience with Nikon that went very smoothly... I broke the scope myself and sent it back for the shipping and handling they fixed it and was back in my hands within about 10 days.

A+ for Customer Service on that one.
