How much longer do you think gun prices on EBR type stuff will be above MSRP, sometimes double or triple MSRP?

I want to go back to the days when you paid slightly under MSRP, or significantly under MSRP.

When is that going to happen? This year? Next year? Never (like the ammo situation)?

I dunno, I am seeing Colt 6920's, the "holy grail" of ARs to many, selling for under $1300.

That's pretty much back where they were before the election.

I don't think it will be much longer til we are back to last years prices anyway.

Remember that even DURING the Clinton ban prices didn't stay high. They spiked early on and then came right back down.

well, I don't think $3,000 for an FS2000 is normal.

By normal, I mean 2007 to early 2008 prices adjusted for inflation.

It's getting better. FFL's around here are getting stuff and the backlog isn't nearly as bad as before. Items that were supposed to take months are coming in a few weeks.

They seem to be rapidly approaching normal on some items.... AIM has lowers for $89.95. Romanian PSLs never really went up much but they are $699 as well. Classic Arms and AIM have both had Bushmaster ARs for under $1k recently. My local sporting goods stores have Bushmaster and S&W ARs in stock for pretty close to pre election prices.

AKs seem to be hanging on the the silly price levels but I suspect that they will be falling soon as well.

I think in a couple years, you'll find deals from individuals who were hot for a AR an such, but it really wasn't in their blood, just a passing fad because everybody was buying, they'll loose interest, an will sell, thats when you'll find a better deal on something...

Just like how the stock market never calmed down before, or how the housing market never calmed down before, or how the gas crunches never subsided?

These people who are buying tons of ammo (more than they can shoot) are going to be very sad when prices die down.

People are ignorant at best if they think prices won't go down in the near future.

Priceing has more to do with the dealers in your area and greed than when will price come down. Where i live I have bought 5 guns in the last 3 months and waiting on 2 more when they can be found and all will be under retail priceing. Some at a good discount. Even the black guns can be bought right. I do think that if you just have to have it now or yesterday then there will be someone to help take that extra cash from you just to see you get it.

I won't shed a tear for those that bought for "investment" purposes.
A flood of cheap used NIB/LNIB EBRs on the market would be a nice change.

Those days are gone forever.

What is normal?

Cash is King, and everything else is not normal.

I had a choice of handguns for a thousand dollars anywhere in shop one morning. I came home with a 630 dollar gun. Fine. Plus tax.

Suddenly that caliber gun was no longer availible (For a time). Then the ammuntion.

What is normal you ask?

Well, this is the normal now. Nothing ever stays the same.
