How many AR15 type guns actually were sold last 9 days?

Here is a photo I got from another website showing empty shelves at a gunshop. The only AR left has pink tigerstripes! Even it is probably gone by now.

Have to be thousands if not millions.

All the local gun stores looked like they'd been robbed. I hope everyone who bought an AR wrote their reps.

Even Davidsons, a major distributor, shows all "allocated" on AR platform rifles. But being a hillbilly, even with my shoes off, I can't count that high.

Nobody wanted the pink AR? Be a little more secure in your masculinity, people! Who care's if it's pink, your liberty is at stake!

If I was in the market and that was what was available, hell ya I would buy it. Might just add to the fear factor and I have granddaughters that would love it too.

Hopefully, not a lot. I'm getting a lot of emails from Armslist about posts getting blocked as spam or some such thing because of price gouging.

I don't give two rats behinds, I'm not going to spend $3000 on any AR15. Ever.

I visited just about every store that sells AR rifles in my area. One had three left. They were in odd-ball calibers and priced over $1500-$2000. The guy was definafely putting the sales pressure on. "The last ones ever" and all that. Good thing I didn't need one.

If they could be counted the number would either have to be expressed in scientific notation (as my cholesterol numbers are) or the Internet servers would crash.

Merry Christmas to everyone in our THR family.

Many thousands. Brownell's sold out of a 3 year supply of PMags in 36 hours if that's any indication.........

I have seen this a few times but have a hard time believing that a business would keep a three year supply of inventory unless they planned to sell it sooner which would not make it a three year supply would it?

Having a 3 year supply does seem rather outrageous given the expense of tying up money for that long of a time period, the amount of storage space, etc.

Of course, that may explain some of Brownell's prices.

Good point. Maybe they did stock up a bunch (because of the election results?) and then sold out. And then in the end they sold as many mags in a few days as they did in the previous three years (that is probably what they are saying).

That is the only reason I can think they'd have that much on hand. It could be a combination too. They could have been well stocked (for whatever reason) and then they were quick on their feet at getting more in when this happened.

In any case, it is sort of hard to believe and hard not to believe at the same time, at least for me. Like someone said "all of them" are sold, regardless of how much or little was in stock of whatever item related to AR-15s, it is sold out.

Local gun shop here sold it's entire stock of 150 AR's in two days......that's around 9 per hour. They also ran out of ATF forms.

If everyone that owned an AR-15 was an NRA member, we'd be 30 million strong instead of 4 million.

Join the NRA, and pass your AR-15's down to your grandchildren.

Merry Christmas to all!
