I started reloading a little over three years ago and I only have about 14 or so powders in stock, but I voted "Never enough..."

For my .357 Magnums I have pretty much settled on either Herco (cast) or 2400 (jacketed), though I have some Titegroup, H110 and WSF I've used in the past and a pound each of AA #7, Unique, Universal Clays and 300-MP that I haven't used (yet).

For my .40 S&W handguns I use Longshot and jacketed 180's exclusively.

I just recently took up reloading for my 1-H Tropical .405 Winchester and have tried Reloder-15 and IMR 4320, and have a pound each of 748 and H4895 for it that has not yet been used.

On a personal note, I think it is a good idea to have a 'pet' load for each of your firearms as well as several other 'satisfactory' loads with other powders that still get the job done as you can't always get the components you want (especially in these times).

I took an actual inventory last night; don't think I missed anything this time. Some of these are unopened 8-pounders, some are 1 lb cans with just a little dab left, and everything in between. I'm not gonna post the total but it's more pounds than I thought. (it's NOT all in the house, a bunch is in a padlocked 1" thick wooden box in a locked outbuilding) I need to convert some to ammo:

Rifle powders:
WC844
AA2520
DP-85
Reloder-12
AA2495
Varget

Pistol and Shotgun:
AA#7 (faster-burning Israeli surplus)
Promo
WSF
2400
AA4100
Herco
Rex-3
296
American Select
Bullseye
Green Dot
HP38
International Clays
Power Pistol
Titegroup
Unique
Universal

BP and BP Substitutes:
FFFg Black Powder
777
Pyrodex RS

There's probably only 5 or 6 that I use for everything.

Lets see, Varget for .223 & .308. Bullseye for non magnum handgun loads, 380, 45acp, light 357. 2400 for magnum 357 & 44. I have some TrueBlue and BlueDot to try out and some 296 I used to use on the magnum loads.

I punched "never enough," but if I told you, you'd call me a liar to my face, and I'd not get angry.
I do a LOT of experimenting.....different rifles, and different pistols.
I shoot competition pistol...so there are a few multipound containers. Same with the equipment for competition shotgun.
Oh, yeah, I also shoot competition rifle, in several classes, though none are in bullseye.
Some of the powders are duped like 7828 and 7828ssc and 4831 and 4831sc, and also IMR4895 and H4895.
I have no BPs.
Have fun,
Gene

BullFrog,

I've done as you have, use different powders for the same calibers., that way I'm never out. I've got about 31 lbs., revolver, rifle loadings, some are of one type, like it for my .223, so have maybe 6 lbs. for that, plus Win. 231 for revolver, 5 lbs., then several powders for heavier rifle loads. If I run out of one powder for one rifle, I just grab another lb. and load away.

My wife doesn't come down into my cave dwelling either, "That stuff I don't touch, don't want to know what you've got down there, as long as the house is still standing, I'm okay with it," See guys, got to train 'em right from the start!

A lot...a lot I don't use..wish there was some way to have a powder swap meet so we could trade the stuff we don't use for the kind we do use.
