How many guns have you guys purchased in a month? I think I had 3 in one month, felt a little quilty and paranoid the gubment was staking me out.:uhoh:

Are law is that you are approved for a hand gun you can buy as many as you want that day and time. New day new paper work. and they need a lawful reason to pull your paper work including a warrant from the courts, to see your info. they do not know if you purchased one that day or twenty. with out a warrant. and any true gunshop owner would never show it without one. unless justified. but in are state theres no law stopping you from sellin me a hand gun at a gunshow I just have to register it, to carry it with my lifetime permit.

The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good. George Washington 1st. President of USA.

This was an interesting exercise. I opened my Deal Sheet spreadsheet and looked for the dates. I have a spreadsheet with my gun buys and sells going back 10 years, with detailed recorded. I'm only going to count back five years, though. The reason is that for a while before that I was [strike]incarcerated in[/strike] a resident of NYC, and that slowed me down quite a bit temporarily.

Looks like it breaks down to, since 2005:

Months with four guns: One (January this year, actually)
Months with three guns: Four
Months with two guns: Three
Months with one gun: Most all the others. And I am picking up this month's gun tomorrow. ;)

Tomorrow's lucky victim: A pre-Series 80 Colt Combat Commander in 9mm. All original and high condition. Already google-mapped a range 10 miles from the FTF meet-up to put that puppy to the test. This may set some people back a bit, but in 35+ years of steady gun-love, this will be my first 9mm I personally owned. Have shot others owned by friends, family, and lovers, but this one is the first I felt like buying with my own money. I'm traditional; I wait to see if something is really going to hang around a while. It looks like 9mm has finally convinced me. ;)

Now .327 Federal?; well, I have it penciled in to check back on that cartridge about the year 2120. ;)

I think the state of AR has a limit of 12 buying/selling and then they count you as a dealer requiring an FFL. But I have dreamed weird things and this could be one of them

Looking back through my records, I see that I bought four guns in a single month three times in 2009 and three guns in a single month twice. Apparently I'll have to step up the pace a bit. :)

I bought four just last month, but one was a long gun. I'm a CWP holder so in South Carolina I don't have to go through the NICS when submitting the paperwork though.

One month the opportunities to round out my collection just kept popping up and I ended up buying 6.

Many months with none, but occasionally the finds come back to back in the same month.

Why do you ask?

Damn all of you guys that are able to buy multiple handguns in one month and not have to get get permits for every single handgun that can take over a year to process!!!!!!!!

I guess so I don't feel too bad about buying another one this month and make it another 3 gun month , just things found their way to me.

California limits 1 handgun purchase per month, but unlimited long guns. If I remember correctly you must fill out the 4473 for each gun instead of the blanket 1 for all the guns in the transaction.

We simply choose not to live where you do.

I can't even keep track anymore:uhoh:

Over the past 12 months I would say I averaged two per month. However I do recall a month or two when I bought at least four.

It's the same here in Kentucky. My CCP allows me to fill out the form, pay, and take my gun/s with me sans NICS call. It's a real perk.

In the past 7 years, my biggest month would have had 20-24 guns in one month. That was when Centerfire Systems was running clearance prices on the 8mm Turkish Mausers. I bought 20 of them (They were $35 each for the long-barreled versions). I scrubbed, cleaned, de-greased, sporterized, refinished stocks, turned bolt handles, cut and re-crowned barrels, buffed, re-blued, and installed scope mounts for three months.

When Christmas rolled around, I gave every shooting/hunting family member and friend one of the Mausers - sporterized and scope-ready - and a box of cartridges for Christmas.

That's still some of the best money I ever spent. At least 10 of the old Turks have since bagged deer, and one of them has claimed two Elk. Three of my nephews learned to shoot center-fire rifles with the Turks. I accidentally converted one uncle to a Mauser cartridge fan for life (He has since bought two or three more 8x57s, three 7x57s and two 6.5 Swedes).

I remember my wife referring to my garage/workshop as "Santa's Little Armory" for years after that.

I've purchaed 29 firearms, both handgun and longgun/shotgun in the past 14 months.
Half of them were in 1 transaction last April otherwise 1 or 2 per month is about right.
Ive sold and/or traded 17 in the same time frame, along with roughly $6K in ammo sales.

A rough estimate of the most firearms I ever purchased in a single month would be 38. That included rifles, shotguns and handguns. I purchased about 13 in a single store visit, and no one blinked an eye. Of course that was all pre 9-11. Because of the quantity and quality of firearms that I was purchasing, I managed a 20% discount on the firearms and 30% discount on the ammo.

I've done 3 in one day. I'm pretty sure the cloaked black chopper is above my roof.
