How many of us are from northern Illinois?

Mostly the Western burbs of Chicago since '85, (Naperville, Aurora, Plainfield) with stops in Chicago, and Macomb. Currently I reside in Dekalb county.

Lived in the So. burbs (Harvey & Lansing), for better than 35 years till I got married and escaped over the line to Indiana.

I'm in southern Will County, almost in Grundy County.

As my location says, "Not far enough from Chicago."

I'm working on it, though. If I can last until I retire, less than 7 years, that's when I'm bailing. Illinois is a bad state to retire in, it's not just bad for guns.

The only things I like about Chicago, are the White Sox, Bulls, and BlackHawks. Sometimes the Bears. The rest of the city leaves me cold. If it fell into the lake, I'd just switch to bottled water and drive on.

Escaped from the madness!

I'm originally from Henry County (way out in the cornfields!), but have been living in the PRK courtesy of the USAF for the past few years. I still have family back there that I try to keep involved in all the madness coming out of Chicago & Springfield.

If you are on campus at NIU you can (afaik) store your weapons at the Campus Police office. You may find them all-pushed out of shape about it (who knows). Or, rent a you-store-it type locker from the campus copy people or similar outfit and keep a low profile about WHAT you are storing. Sycamore Sportsmans is nice and lots of folks have 'shootable' land in DeKalb and would likely let you work out with your gear.

And, as I've said--eat at burritoville often (I miss it so).

I grew up in Kane County in the Fox Valley. I left when I joined the military. I never went back and never want to live in Illinois again.

South-west of Rockford. Nice small town. Lots of people still don't lock doors, even when they are not at home. Really.

I can show you some nice places to live if you want to come this way. I am a real estate agent.

I grew up west of Elgin (near Plato Center), and lived near Woodstock for many years.

I (thankfully) left the People's Republik of Illinois 7 years ago for "free America", and won't ever be going back, even though I have friends and family there...........
