but I think if I use a govt computer and actually post, that could get me in trouble
I've been reading and posting on THR since it came alive and about 70% of the time it's at work on a gov computer. Haven't taken me down yet.;)

I come in to work at 8 am, turn on the pc, launch Outlook, launch Horizon, start up Mozilla and go straight to THR. I spend the first 15 or minutes of every work day reading/posting till my heart's content. Then of course, I'm able to check back for new posts about every 30 minutes or so...so yeah, my job is too easy.

I guess there are some good things about having a boring/slow job :)

I'm REQUIRED to

review (and post as required) on gun lists at work. And get paid for it.

Then again, I work for a gun rights advocacy organization.

:D

THIS IS POST NUMBER 500!!!!!!

Hey, Post Number 500! And it only took me 3.5 Years. Woohoo!

I read here nearly every day at lunch and then again in the evening.

Cheers,

New Goal: 1000 Posts before the decade ends

I'm at work right now. I'm a PC Tech. so I get paid to play on the net while I wait for one of our users to break something. My boss don't care what I do as long as I fix things when they get broken.

My employer's filters will block relatively innocuous sites like Primitive Archery and pocket knife forums but I can THR till my heart's content. They must have made an exception because of the lofty and civil level of discourse on this forum.

And yet another 12 hour night worker read and post at work all the time. So far been lucky enough the net filters havent locked it out.

Yes

I just ordered some goods from Mr. Reed via my work connection. My company doesn't seem to bother folks unless their looking at smut. Those folks that do, frequently disappear soon after.

I surf Gunbroker and AuctionArms at work frequently. It's a good break during the office day since I no longer work in the labs or the factory. BTW, cubicles are depressing.

I may have even completed an auction on a firearms related site and definitely an ebay auction or two, but mostly due to auction timing. I don't make a habit doing any more than perusing and adding items to my watch lists. Either way, never been an issue that my employer has brought to my attention.

No forums or firearms allowed at work.

Same here.
I posted a lot at my last job which was a 12hr overnight shift. I now work for a company who's culture is very lefty liberal and I don't want to become known as the 'gun guy' there- it would only be a matter of time before they order a search of my car. Better to fly under the radar.

cracked butt, where do you work that they may order a search of
your car? Not the name but say a Gov. area or school?

I smell Jack Boots. Is it in their hand book? Can they fire you if you told them
to go get intimate with themselves?

Every day I'm at work I'm on THR as much as possible. I never let it affect my work, but sometimes the hospital lab is VERY slooooow.

It's common knowledge at work that I own firearms, shoot firearms, carry firearms. I'm not the only person who carries...several of the physicians and other people on call carry. In almost twelve years, I've never heard a negative comment. Antis keep their mouths shut in these parts.

I post from work early in the morning during night shifts when things are slow
