I work for the govt (or at least use their computers), so my options are limited at work.

I read on my lunch hour and such, but never post at work... I'm OK to "browse" these forums (always good research for homework), but I think if I use a govt computer and actually post, that could get me in trouble... so I just read at work.

I wonder if people actually read and post here at work... :D

I've been known to over lunch or when I'm running a simulation for work . . . so far, the net filters haven't blocked THR the way they have TFL and some other forums.

12 hour nights and we're allowed to browse and post at work, so 99.9% of my browsing/posting is done at work.

As long as the network ain't broken they don't care what we're doing.

Except for that guy they fired when he got caught punching the clown while looking at porn. :banghead:

I often work 14-16 hour days, of which a good chunk is waiting for a helicopter to land or someone else to go home. So I surf and post here from work. NMCI has not filtered it out yet.

I occasionally visit THR and read from work ... sometimes post. I think others sometimes read what I'm reading, if you know what I mean - a little action behind the screen. :uhoh:

I used to

But as of two weeks ago, they got strict. I can't even get on the sight because it has "weapon related content". Glad that they don't know that I'm packing my CDP... He He He.

Yep but only during idle time. I think filtering "weapons related" sites from work isn't needed. I work in the I.T. dept so our comps aren't filtered but our sales guys occasionally sell to people in "the business" and need to be able to visit knife/gun company websites. When upgrading an employee's computer I noticed he had an IPSC link in his favorites and I just thought "hey cool!"
As long as you aren't looking at porn or gambling on company time I don't think it's a big deal. Plus sometimes you can use a proxy like AOL or Yahoo to get around...nevermind, I've said too much :neener:

Only during lunch and breaks. The Company monitors what goes through the firewall, and we have individual logons so they know exactly who is looking at what and when...

Are you here to help?

I was just about to take a sip of my morning coffee, glad I didn't. :D

Porn watching and clown punching is frowned upon here as well. Beyond
that as long as it does not interfere with work they don't care. Most, if not
all of my reading and posting is from work (just wraped up 80+ hrs last week).

I'll say this for the company, they sure got their priorities straight, I can be
on THR all I want and they have banned My Space use. :neener:

All day every day until it gets blocked. I know the local sys admin and he's on game sites all day. They're mostly concerned with bandwith not content.

I am the IT guy for my company, and 3 days out of 5 I work in my home office, so yeah no filtering at all here.

Yeah, I post during my "down time" at work. Working in manufacturing, you have a lot of hurry up and wait, so that's where THR helps out.

THR is the second link I open at work. I log in every single day. I imagine if the mods were to run a report on the server, it would show me logged in better than 12 hours a day.

Work? What's this work you speak of? Does not your woman provide? I converse in the comfort of home. "Helga, come up here and change the TV channel"

You must find strong, health woman. One that can plow, cook and clean. "Helga, bring me another beer before you leave for your job"

Must go now, my fingers tire at all this effort. "HELGA!!"

It's a quick run through opening threads in multiple tabs and switching back to the corp lan. Otherwise it is blocked under one of the uglier types.
