OK, I know that convetional wisdom says that the Keltec is a carry gun and not a range gun per se ( carry alot shot a little), but I cant help but wonder if there are any of you guys who DO use it as a range gun. If so, how many rounds? Did you have to modify it to shoot it so much? Did you have to replace any broken parts? If so, what, and after how many rounds?

My P11 gets its full turn every time I go to the range because if I'm going to carry it, I want to know it well. I don't really have a dedicated 'range gun', but the P11 is the only one of my guns that actually makes it on every trip to the range and is shot every time out. That is simply because I want to know it is reliable since I carry it everyday/everywhere. I never started counting rounds, but it has had a few hundred or so, easily. No breakages or failures of any kind so far. No modifications either. I'll shoot my P11 anywhere from one full magazine to too many to count, in one range visit.

I have a P32 I would guess somewhere between 500-750 rounds. I havent had any issues at all. I had never thought about round count but just thinking back over the two or three years I have had it.

My PF9 gets at least two magazines run through it every time I go to the range. I've had it almost a year now, and no issues with it other than it had the polymer magazine release when I got it. I practice speed reloads, and the mag lip was tearing up the release. Kel-Tec sent me one of the new steel ones when I requested it, and now there are no issues whatever with it.

It has approximately 600 rounds through it now and I've shot just about every shape of 115 grain bullets through it with no failures to feed or extract. It likes my handloads with Precision Bullets 115 grain Truncated Cone Flat Point hard moly coated lead bullets and I have them loaded up to the same velocity as the MagTech hollow points I use for carry. Same point of impact at 7 and 15 yards

I only got my P3AT recently but I've put maybe 250 rounds through it. I've probably shot maybe 1,000 rounds through my SUB-2000 though, I love that thing.

p3at and pf9 with 300 through each. I'm amazed though at the response by Gunsmiths on these. They always call them POS, but I know a few people who have purposely tried to shoot till they break, and they end up pissed they couldn't break them.

I'm interested in this thread. I want to see all the keltecs that last!

I consider my Kel-Tecs carry guns, not range guns, but I did give my PF-9 a good testing and break-in before trusting it to carry. It has over 1,000 rounds through it now with no problems of any kind.

My P-3AT has between 400-500 trouble free rounds so far. I don't know the round count for my P-32, but it's probably around 400. I used to have a P-11 too that fired about 500 rounds before I sold it.

Never had a problem with any of them.

I have two P-32s. One is a range gun and I shoot at least 40-50 rounds per range session. It has roughly 1,300 rounds through it. The other one is a carry piece. I shoot a mag or two through it per session. It has maybe 250 rounds through it.

My Sub2K has approx. 2,000 rounds down range.

My P11 had over 12,000 rounds through it when I traded it in on my XD. I was buying the XD and wearing my trusty 12yr old P11 and asked how much they'd give me in trade. They offered me $200 toward the XD so I took it. My P3at only has 1 box of 380 through it but it ate it all w/o issue.

My Sigma 9mm has almost 1000 rounds down the pipe. Some light strikes and stovepipes in the beginning but a trip back to S&W and it's flawless now, any ammo. The trigger is also good now.

Drebin, a big tip of the hat if ur P11 had no issues in 12,000 rounds, or never had to go back to the mothership...

My P3AT has exactly 10 rounds thru it. :) (I posted about it last night at thr.us)

It bites! I've got to figure out what's wrong so I can practice with it more. I was shooting ammo about as hot as you can possibly load it without being "+P", that may have been part of the problem.

Other than being a firecracker, it performed flawlessly and was amazing accurate. And it didn't try to jump out of my hand like I expected. It's a keeper, but might not get a whole lot of range time.

I feel bad for the guy that buys your P11! That's a high round count for any gun, let alone a P11!

Does KT offer warranty work/replacement for guns that are bought used?

I bought it in 1997 or 1998 from a police surplus store in Smyrna, GA. They had 250 of them that Smyrna Police department had purchased and then taken back up to swap for Glocks. (I'm sure there was a little politicking there). When I bought it I had never heard of them but the guy behind the counter was carrying one on his hip and an off-duty cop that was shopping had one on his ankle (store owner asked him to show me). I think I gave $200 for it. I poured ammo through that gun and the only part that I ever replaced was the recoil spring rod. The plastic one broke a month before I traded it. $6 and 2min fix.

lol... for real. I went by that shop a few days later and they had it listed at $289.00. The Army Navy store down the street has new ones for $279.

My 1st Gen. P32 has exactly 1521 rounds through it, the last 1200 or so without a glitch. Might be time to think about a new set of springs.

Little over 1500 rnds through my PLR-16, had a few failures mostly cleaning issues and out of spec mil-surp ammo, overall it's a great little .223

KelTec Pistols

I've got two first generation P3ATs. One has about 1,300 rounds through it and the other one had about 800 rounds through it. No issues with either pistol.

Best regards.

Ive got a 1st gen P32 with over 3000 rds thru it. Only time I had trouble with it was when I switched out the springs with extra power wolf springs. Switched those out with new OEM springs and all the problems went away.

Hmmm... I have never been able to get on board with this line of thinking. I like to shoot my carry guns more than anything else. If I am going to carry something and potentially use it in a life or death situation I want to be as proficient and familiar with it as possible.

I had a P11 and put about 1000 rounds through it and that's after I bought it used. It used to jam about every fifth round and would fail to fire. I sold it.
