well i guess its different when the range is off of my porch out into the backyard. Whenever i have nothing else to do or see a ground hog walking through my backyard its time for some practice.i like to shoot as many rounds as i can afford and thats alot if im shooting surplus.probably shoot 100 rounds or so of surplus. I've heard alot of people say you cant use surplus for hunting itll only put a hole through it you need soft or hollow points. ive never seen an 8mm round have a problem stopping a ground hog.
