I've been following the "PF-9 opinions" thread, and there appears to be quite a number of owners on this board. Most say they really like their gun and it has been good to them.

I really liked mine while I had it. I put about 175 rounds through it before it broke. I am very hopeful (confident) that Kel-Tec will make it right.

Even Kel-Tec says they are not range toys. Their FAQ says life expectancy is "6000 rounds or more". I wonder if that might be a bit optimistic.

My question is simple: How many rounds have you put through your PF-9?

If you know what part of your round count was +P or otherwise "warm", that would be interesting to hear as well.

Ran about 2000 total mabe 400 hp and they would havw been hornadycd and 124gr geogia arm gd standard velocity. Never a probblem with it.

Short answer: No

Longer answer:
50 rnds WWB
50 rnds S&B (European may be a little hotter than US?)
50 rnds M882 (NATO also reportedly a little hotter)
8 rnds Fiocchi XTP (not +P, but European)
8 rnds Gold Dot +P

The only one I could really tell the difference was the Gold Dots. I didn't know there was supposedly a difference between SAAMI, NATO, and CIP until I started researching after my slide cracked. I still have not found a definitive answer. I need to get a chronograph and figure it out.

Apparently KelTec has recommended only US made ammo, but this is not in the owner's manual.

I don't shoot any +p ammo in it at all. As far as my handloads goes, I've never had a minutes trouble with the pf9, but I honestly don't shoot it that much

About 500 rounds. I don't remember what they all were, but it was mostly S&B, Wolf, BVAC reloads and a few of my own handloads.

mine lasted 48 rds before it fell apart. pos imho - Taurus PT740 now with 500+ perfect rds down range

I have the P11. Got it used with 350 rounds already thru it. i have put 400 thru it with no problems

I have had mine for 3-1/2 yrs now. I would guess I have 1000-1200rds through it. Usually 50 or less per range visit just to ensure it functions well. I use my moderately loaded handloads in it and no issues or problems. Always goes bang when you pull the trigger. The trigger has gotten better over time but it is a pretty long pull.

My step sons like my Ruger SP101 with my very stout handloads over the PF9 with my moderate handloads.:D

I don't have one but I shot one of my buddies at the range a few weeks back. Is it me or is that little gun ready to jump out of your hand when you fire it?

It worked well, but I had a really difficult time holding on to the little sucker. So much so that I was considering buying one and now am not.

Sorry to thread jack, his gun has very few rounds though it as he doesn't shoot a whole lot. I was just wondering if this was normal?

I have ~2000 rounds through my PF-9, I've owned it a little over two years. Less than 20 124gr. PDX +P ammo, ~100ish hollow points, and the rest is all win/fed/remington 115gr FMJ.

I've replaced the old plastic mag release with the new steel one, and I replaced a chipped assembly pin, but other than those two minor things, 100% reliable.

HK- mine tried to jump out of my hands at first, too. That's a lot of power for such a small package. I put a little grip tape on the front and back of the grip, and that made all the difference. I find it to be pretty fun to shoot.

Thanks to all who have replied so far.

Your lucky

I bought a new one in Aug. 2011, 200 rounds later traded for a LC9. I want no part of owning a gun that I can't depend on to save my family. You get what you pay for, however, many people have had great luck with them so I guess it's the luck of the draw as far as reliability.

Sigbear

No Plus P for me but in over 3 years I have shot just under 1500 rounds. Shoots just as well now as when it was brand spanking new.
