Is there a limit as to how many times you can apply a Duracoat finish to the same firearm? I imagine since the coating is all external it wouldn't matter so much, but does multiple applications degrade the durability of the finish itself?

Also, what would be the best camo pattern for a PTR 91 or SA58 carbine that would maximize the 'coolness' factor? I'm leaning towards urban digital.

Duracoat is so thick, that I wouldn't want more applications than absolutely necessary. Lauer recommends two coats, which I personally think is one too many.

I'd say apply whatever is required for your camo pattern and a clearcoat if desired, and let it go at that.

The thicker the duracoat is laid on or the more coats you have, the shinier the finish. So, you want as few coats as possible for a flat appearance. I found out the hard way that duracoat can be taken off with medium grit sandpaper. I wanted to redo my shotgun, so I took it back down and repainted. Hope this helps.
