How much are these "Galil Clones"

The guys at Ohio do exellent work, if the price is right, which usually is with them I'd go for it. Good luck

You'd be looking at a suggested retail price of around $1,700 for a new ORF Galil clone

Woah! Thats wild. Any other galil clones? Or galil like rifles? The gas system just looks different. And the handguard. Could you make a normal AK into a galil clone?

Other than the missing tritium flip-up flap, I don't see any irregularities in the front end. They're probably the original Galil parts used in the build. The buttstock, though, is a bit different. i've never seen one like that on any Galil before. Much more webbing between the upper and lower tubes the buttpad is much bigger thicker) than I've ever seen.

I suppose you could get a .223 cal Saiga and put some Galil furniture on it. Though technically, a Galil is supposed to have a milled reciever and the up turned charging handle, ect.

And I am not making any accusations since the builders appear to have a solid reputation, but that looks for all the world like the POS TAPCO sidefolder that went Tango Uniform on my WASR on the first range visit.

Surely that's not a Tapco on that rifle? I mean, yeah it sure looks like it--but, not to repeat myself, but surely that's not a tapco?

That's what I tought at first too until I researched it further. They are a bit different so it, IMO, is not the TAPCO. One thing is for sure, for the price being asked it should be all metal. I don't know if IMI ever revised their folding stock to the one offered by ORF or if ORF made one up to be one of the compliant parts.

The thing that gets me is that ACE makes a very sturdy Galil style folding stock. My bro has one and the damn thing seems nearly indestructible--it is at exactly the other end of the quality spectrum as the TAPCO. So good Galil stocks do exist out there, and for $1700, it seems like you should get one with your rifle.

COOOOOOOLLLLLLLL :)

5.56x45 is .223 remington right???????

Where do you get magazines?

Anyone got a shooters report on one?

Always wanted a Galil

If the Galil only cost like 600 bucks I'd have one by now. Ak reliability with a charging handle that makes sense AND any rifle with a built in wire cutter AND bottle cap opener is ok in my book.

I really like it but I think Id rather spend the money it takes to make one on a FAL. How much $ would it cost to make one?

They're called by some folks "Ohio Rarely Fire", with good reason. The dealer I used to work for bought 10 1919's from ORF, out of which only 4 would cycle reliably. Niiice. If they do test fire their guns, I'd be amazed.

It's hard to screw up an AK, so I wouldn't expect an 60% failure rate but I still have very low expectations with ORF having seen their bad up close and personal.

1 year warranty is weak, too, IMHO.
