How much energy is lost in the cylinder gap?

Just like the title says, on average, about how much energy is lost in a cylinder gap?

Obviously, the larger the gap, the larger the energy loss, but what's a nominal percentage?

Figure 50-100fps. Sometimes more, sometimes less. It's hard to gauge though because you could have 2 4" revolvers and shooting the same load in both may give 100fps difference. However, that could be due to differences in the cylinder throats, the bore, the gap, or something else. Very hard to pin down what difference comes from what source.
