Identified that my follower in a semi auto gas gun is catching on the magazine extension. Only happens when loading but pretty often. Not while shooting, it runs perfectly once loaded.

So how much do you lube your follower and magazine tube/extension? Oil or grease?

Do followers need their sharp edges rounded off sometimes? Also inside the mag extension is a sharp edge. I can understand how the sharp edge on the follower meeting the sharp edge on the magazine extension.

Nothing but a spray of dry-lube in my tube magazines. Perhaps smoothing out those catch points is in order.

I like "Liquid Wrench dry-lube with Cerflon" myself

Like that - you can find it at the local auto parts store, the last can I bought was in the RV section of WallyWorld, I think.

If there is a discontinuity that's causing the follower to catch, lubrication is not the answer. The discontiuity needs to be polished smooth, so there is nothing to catch on.

Spend most of the afternoon smoothing out the lip on the magazine extension and cleaning up the follower.

Won't load to capacity about 1 out of 10 times now (about 1 out of 3 earlier).

Either the gap is too large (only can get 5 threads exposed on on the mag tube w the forend on), I need a new follower and/or mag extension.

Yes, this is a 930 SPX and other than this, very impressed with it.
