I've got a 50 caliber Remington Genesis with the camo stock and the blued barrel. It's a mattle like bluing on the barrel right now. I like this if you can get it to hold up if not I'd like a regular bluing.

I've only shot this Remington Genesis maybe 20 times if that. I've also only had it 3 months or so and already the bluing on the barrel has spots where it's rubbed off and one spot that looks like a crack in it. How much would it cost to have this thing reblued with some quality bluing? Or can it not be done? Also what about the inside of the barrel? Would I have to worry about that?

I know this gun was a awesome deal but honestly I'm doubting if I should have bought it as the finish just seems like crap. It shoots good but is it going to be full of rust in 2 years? I could have probably bought a lot nicer gun used for not much more that would last me years. Can I expect this thing to? I'm just afraid with the bluing coming off it's going to rust and be ruined in a year or so.

i would have to guess around 60.00 for a hot bluing. Your gunsmith will take care of it and make it look brand new. Of course there are also cold bluing methods and kits that you can do yourself. I have seen some very good jobs as far as cold bluing. for sure in the near future i am going to try it out.

Take a look at this job here some young fella did. looks pretty good.

If $60 is all it would cost to have it re blued I'd do that over trying to do it myself. Since I got the gun for $100 brand new I wouldn't mind putting $60 more into it. I love most of the gun other than the finish. The bluing seems cheap and I'm not sure how the camo will hold up. Other than that it shoots great.
