Noveske does put together a nice rifle. I was just there a week ago and I learned that they only build 25 per month. Fairly small production run to maintain high quality. My favorite high end AR-15 rifle is the Next Generation Arms MP168 SPC. It's the most accurate and reliable AR-15 I have ever seen and you can get it in a handful of different colors for no extra charge.

This is a really hard question to answer. Very open ended and very subjective. Are we including optics and other accessories? What would the purpose be for this AR15?

If it is absolutely the best sure $3k or more but that includes optics and accessories

LMT lower w/ Sopmod, 2stage trigger, and Ambi safety -$550
Larue Tactical Stealth Upper- 1200
Magpul Moe grip- 50
Magpul pmag-20
Magpul AFG-30
Troy BUIS (f&R) -300

$2150

$750-$999, there are enough very decent AR's for under a thousand... spend the difference on ammo and magazines...

About $1200 is all you need to pay for a high quality AR with basic sights.

Until the battle of next generation weapon platforms is settled I see no reason to pay more than that.

There is a lot of love for piston AR platforms right now but they just break in different ways and lack part compatibility.

I'd rather have 2 top tier AR-15s than one proprietary gun with an uncertain parts future.

Are we counting goodies like suppressors, ACOGs, etc.? Because it would be pretty easy to spend another couple thousand on an optic, suppressor, and light.

I'll stick with my Colt 6920 LE. A year ago I paid about $1500 for it, but it's dropped in price since then. It's been super-reliable, shoots great and if I had to pick just one from my stable it would be about all I'd need in that platform, I guess.

For what! A good AR is a reliable AR what else is a necessity in civie land. We're not in combat here yet and all those bells and whistles from sand box land are not necessary and are not anymore bullet-proof that the old SP-1 sporter.

Please don't correct my speeling or grammer, I'm a college Grad but I'm also a war Grad who suffers from PTSD and takes Zanax which makes it hard to remember how to spell things. I can see when they're wrong but often spell them wrong. If you can understand where I'm coming from please accept my failure's. Thanks

If I had the money just sitting around? I would probably go as high as $2,150. That puts you in Noveske/Knight's SR15 territory.

For that kind of money though I am expecting:

1. MOA or better accuracy and midlength barrel
2. Barrel life of at least 20,000 rounds under heavy training use, while maintaining the MOA or better accuracy for at least 10,000 of those rounds
3. Integrated midlength rail system with uninterrupted, free-floating top rail solid enough for sight mounting
4. Integrated folding sights front and rear (maybe option for fixed front)
5. Adjustable gas system
6. Quality aftermarket stock and controls
7. Quality trigger that is stone-cold reliable
8. Top-quality parts throughout
9. Muzzle-brake/QD suppressor adapter

However, I think in most cases you could get 95% of the quality at around $1,500 or less. Like 1911s and everything else, that last 5% gets costly.
