I have just aquired a Browning Hi Power, and am trying to decide on what holster to get for it. What do you carry yours in?

IWB, Commander size holster. It sits a little high, but lets me sit w/o pinching the flab of whats left of my rt butt.

salty.

In a holster. :D

I like my Don Hume 721 "Double Nine". Works great, very comfortable. Given that the gun is a single action, meant to be carried C&L, I like the thumb break.

I also have an El Paso Saddlery "Tortilla" for a similar sized gun (AR-24), and it too is a fine holster. Even better, actually. I can only imagine one made for the BHP would be just as nice.

I really like the Milt Sparks Versa Max II for IWB carry.

Make sure you get a good belt as well. Half the trick of carrying a large gun is to have a good, stiff, dedicated gun belt. No Wal Mart specials.

I have a Galco SkyOps that is quite comfortable. I prefer it to my previous IWB holsters for the HP even when I'm not tucking my shirt in over it.

Cocked and locked inside an IWB Royal Guard holster from Galco.

That's what I use anyway and it's worked for me for years and years.

They make them for the BHP in addition to a whole lot of other models.

Another vote for the Milt Sparks Versa-Max II... absolutely the best holster I've ever used for IWB carry of 1911s or BHPs - and I have a few BHP holsters. If you don't need the tuckable feature (which is a bit less comfortable), then the Milt Sparks Watch Six is also an excellent solution at a better price.

I don't have this gun, but an open-top, inside-the-waistband holster with a forward cant, worn just behind the strong side hip, IMO gives you the best combination of concealment under all conditions as well as speed, and is what I generally use. BUT -- you should get as many holsters as you need to ensure that it will always be accessible to you in whatever situation you find yourself in.

The condition of readiness for this gun should be chamber loaded, full magazine, hammer cocked and safety on ("cocked and locked"). Anything else is too slow or awkward to get into action, too dangerous (in terms of an accidental discharge), or both.

I just ordered one for "Little Lady" (my S&W 3913LS). :D In about five or six months I will have a review. ;)

There's a guy on ebay making/selling leather holsters that is a LEO and carries a BHP himself. Look for Caldwell Gun Leather. I've got an outside the waistband holster and it is very nice with a fair price to boot...tell him Ken sent ya....

I just got a new IWB holster from an outfit called UGB, for one of my BHP's.

I am very happy. Good quality, reasonable price, only a 3 week wait.

I normally carry IWB with Milt Sparks VMII. But a 6 month wait and they ain't cheap. I have two already, but none for any of my Hi Powers.

I am very happy with the UGB, good quality and value, and great customer service.

The owner is a Former Marine.

Go figure.
