My favorite rifle now is the Winchester Model 70, and I carefully breaked in its barrel, but when I go to the chamber cleaning, I got some problem. The Model 70 have a half cone just ahead of the magazine which helps catridge feeding, but it also caused me some problem when cleaning. It often caught my patch when I tried to clean the chamber, so till now I don't think I give the chamber enought cleaning it deserves.

Could you guys tell me how to solve this problem? What is the correct procedure to clean the chamber and throat area? Do I need any special tools?

Thanks,

No problem - Just get a larger diameter (.45 caliber) nylow bore brush and scrub away. Attach it to a longer pistol rod if you have one. There's also a product out there callled a Chamber Maid that is a flexible, plastic coated length of metal cable with a twirling handle to which you attach a chamber brush. Tried one once in my AR and it did a great job.
