Does the serial number reveal the year of manufacture? Or is there another way?

Many of CZ's rifles are quite attractive, but I don't think I'd want to date one.:D

(Sorry. It's a new year. I couldn't help myself.)

I wouldn't want to date one of those- the glossy walnut stocks and polished blue metal- might make my Savages jealous.

heheheheh Savage is like one of those ugly gals that wash, cook, clean, do whatever you want, twice and raise the kids in church! She may not be the best looking gal at the ball, but she'll get ALL the work done, and done well!

My 527 had the date "04" stamped on the barrel which puts it as a 2004 manufacture. Not sure on anything older if they used the same system. The stamp marks are near the chamber end of the barrel.

They should be marked, unless they're very old.

CZ pistols should have a two digit number stamped near the ejection port that indicates the year of manufacture.

LOL. It's pretty bad when you come on here wanting to learn something about guns, and then find yourself laughing and enjoying the repartee so much that you don't care what the object of the post was.:what:

Just checked, mine has a 2004 date on it. Thanks for the help, but continue with the "dating" fun........

....and if she likes you after czeching your guns, she may show you the secrets to her Velvet Revolution amongst the Moravian hillsides.

Cz's as we all know, ar fond of anything late 80's and early 90's...
wear some Drakkar Noir, bring a mixed tape with the Smiths and the Cure,
Depeche Mode, and Nine Inch Nails on it...she will so be yours!
Cz's are also such Eurotrash, so have some decent old school Raver music
on it as well.

Other than that, if it has no STENCILLING MARKS on it, and no mention of Kansas City on it, then it has to be at least 5 or 6 years old, and proly more like 10 or more if it still has the old Cyrillic lanuage on it anywhere.
