IMG_0377.JPG Mix up a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF soak the cylinder for three or four days. Get two dowels or brass rods close to the size of your chambers. Put the dowels in two chambers and put the dowels in a vice to hold the cylinder. Now for its time for a nipple wrench. If you have bought a tee type wrench even if it is a good one I think going to hard to use. They sell a ratchet nipple wrench it's better but it is still going to be hard to hold it in place with even pressure. I think your best bet is to make a nipple wrench. Use a 3/16 1/4 socket, cut a slot in the socket with a Dremel tool with a cut off blade wide enough to fit a small file. Using the file open up the socket to fit the nipple. Takes about ten minutes. Using some good even pressure try to break the nipple loose, but don't overdo it if it doesn't break loose you still have options you don't want to break the nipple off. Next, you can try heat using a small pencil torch heat around the nipple you do not want to get the metal red hot. Apply heat until you see the ATF/acetone mix bubble around the nipple then try to break the nipple loose. If that does not work put some leather between the vice and cylinder and make sure the pins in the vice are not touching the cylinder, heat around the nipple again this time use an impact driver you can buy one at Harbor Freight https://www.harborfreight.com/6-bit-impact-screwdriver-set-with-case-64812.html.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I only hope that these posts are tongue-in-cheek and that I'm not in on the joke.

Thank you so much for the info.

Here's a update to those curious.
I finally got the toothpick out by using hemostats, the tools that surgeons use to keep your veins in place. It was the perfect tool.

Obviously never gonna use toothpicks again (although it was nice the wood absorbed the water) and a quality nipple wrench is a mainstay in the muzzleloading bag. Also probably gonna invest in a few drill bits for cleaning the nipples from now on, hopefully the ridges on the side can help pick up water out of the nipples.

Something like this would be much better that drill bits.
