Get a cute one.

Or a small one.

Or in this case, small AND cute.

I get a lot of compliments on this little guy, especially from women, and almost every time their first words are "awwww, how cute."

I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or be disgusted :)

Sorry, I don't have a mini-knife to match it up with, but hey, here's a quarter for comparison.

I picked it up at a gun show, used for $140. Not a bad deal, just some minor scuff marks on it.

Looks like I found my summer weather vermin carry piece.

My wife didn't particularly like guns until I stored a friend's Glock 17 at our house while he finished his last semester of college. She was quite taken with the aesthetics of the Glock, and said "You know, I don't really like guns, but if I were ever going to get one, I'd want one like that."

She ended up with a Glock 26, a 1952 Tula SKS, and a Florida CCW permit.:D

In my experience with women..............

which includes one wife and four grown daughters my secret to getting them interested in shooting/guns was to NOT try to interest them. If I tried to get them interested they tended to show a lot of disinterest. It's a woman thing I guess. I did require that they learn how to handle a gun safely but, after that, it was up to them as to whether or not they want to pursue the matter further. My wife never did but my four daughters and a son all are gun owners and are excellent shooters. One, the youngest, has been a sucessful competetive shooter. So FWIW let the gals make their own choices. Keep the opportunity to learn and have some fun open - just don't push it! Good shooting;)

The short textbook answer is "don't waste your time" it only fruststrates you and definitely irritates the women. Let them make the first move. My GF couldn't have cared less about guns and thought I was wasting money when I bought a pre-ban Daewoo K2. About three years ago she bought a Ruger #1 RSI in .30-06 for me for Christmas. She then learned the value of guns when I stuffed a moose in her freezer that I killed with it year before last. Now when it comes to gun buying, the question she asks is if it's good for subsistence hunting (she's Koyukon Athabascan). My reply is "Yes dear, it's perfect".:D

Women have always been, and will always be the greatest mystery to men. :D

Having said that I will tell you that after 7 years of marriage and life around my guns my wife threw me a curveball one day and decided that she would like to take a trip to the range.

I had never pressed the gun issue as I knew she didn't like them and she knew I was not about to give them up. Well after one trip with my .22 autoloader she was hooked! Suddenly guns were not about killing, danger, etc. etc.... They were about learning, doing things together, and most importantly, HAVING FUN!!!!!

So now we shoot together on a regular basis. She is a stunningly good shot with her stainless Mini-14 and Walther P-22. And most importantly we get to enjoy each others company at the range and share in the excitement of what has to be one of the best sports going. In fact we just went through a few hundred rounds this afternoon.

On a side note I had also ridden motorcycles long before I knew my wife and after about 6 or 7 years of marriage she decided she would like a bike of her own. That is another story unto itself. Much like the firearm story however the motorcycle story follows suit. We now have several common interests (including bikes) and like a good wine our marriage has improved with age.

So to answer the question you asked, although I am not sure you were really asking a question at all :p , how do you get a woman to appreciate a gun? Just wait and see what happens!

Wasn't really asking, but telling.

Hadn't really tried to "convert" women into the pro-gun camp, but just about every female I show this mini 22 really like it.
