How to Remove 1911 barrel link, and pin?

Does the Barrel link pin on the 1911 punch out?
I know it sounds dumb, but I wasn't sure if one end is
grooved, bigger, ect?

It should push out in either direction, unless someone has staked it in place which is doubtful.

I have seen a good number which were staked in and no doubt about it. Saves a lot of looking around on the floor for the link and pin. I just clean around the link the best I can and don't take it out without darned good reason.

I just lube it up. No reason to take it out. Some of mine are staked and some will slip right out.
