I acquired model 1 1/2 in a trade and the main spring screw is broken. The rest of the pistol is in decent shape. But the screw is broken and stripped please shed some light. Finding a new one won't be hard my father will just make one if I cannot find a suitable replacement. If it matters it's a Smith and Wesson model 1 1/2 3rd model in .32 s&w

Soak it in penetrating oil for a day or so.

Then try to unscrew it with a sharp punch and hammer.
Peen a dent in the edge to catch the punch tip.
Then Tappy, Tap, Tap on the edge to screw in out, or on through the other side.

If that don't work?
Then Center drill it, leaving just the threads and a little of the screw.

Then use an Easy-Out to take it out.

(The drill bit might even catch and screw it on out while you are drilling it.)

BTW: If your father can make a new screw?
He surely knows how to get the broken one out.
Have you ask him??

Is it just me, or in that 2nd pictures does it look like it's already been drilled some with too big of a drill bit?

You might not have to make one. Those screws are .150"x32, or pretty close to 6x32, a common hardware size. If you can get the broken one out, you can use a 6x32x3/4 fillister head and trim to length.

No, it's not just you!

That wasn't that screws first Rodeo, for sure!!

Too bad he didn't ask here first before proceeding!

That's the way I got the it the previous owner said he tried to remove it with A screw extractor the good news is he didn't drill through the screw head

My dad was also helpful he suggested flash heating it the taping it out like was suggested. And the center drill and as a last resort drill out and re thread

Don't heat it until soaking it in penetrating oil for a couple of days and trying to tap it has failed.

That gun has a case hardened frame.
And heating it hot enough to do much to help loosen the screw will not be good for the case hardening.

This isn't a rusty D-8 Cat you are working on!

the screw is broken and stripped
If it's stripped, as in loose in the threads, it shouldn't be all that hard to remove.
Put something behind it to push on it and help it bite, and it should unwind using the technique that rcmodel suggests.
