Just bought a pair of stainless steel model 60 22lr. One is a rifle and the other a carbine.

The magaazine tube on the carbine is slightly messed up. I want to replace rather than try to fix it.

How the heck is a mag tube removed from this carbine?

YES I have looked for You tube videos, on-line directions anything but have had no luck. Yes there's a ton of info on breakdown for cleaning, which I've done and tried to remove the mag but with no luck. There is a drift pin that looks like it MIGHT be holding the mag in place. But I want to be certain before I screw something up.

Thanks!

The mag tube is easy to remove. The hanger for the tube has a drift pin in it. You drive the drift pin out and the tube slides out. I just rebuilt 2 of the mod 60"s for my grandsons. They sure like them. Hope this helps.

Goodness gracious endebt it sure does help. I tried getting that dang drift pin out this afternoon sensing that might be the way but couldn't get it removed.
By the way the dovetail fitting to the barrel is lose. Does the drift pin being reseated tighten that up?
I;m shooting you a PM e-mail. Thanks!
