How to tighten ejector rod on S&W revolver?

How do I properly tighten a loose ejector rod on an S&W N-Frame revolver? I can get it to hand tightness, but it comes loose very easily.

1. Take the cylinder & crane out of the gun by removing the front side-plate screw and slipping the cylinder assembly out the front of the frame..

2. Remove the ejector rod and degrease it and inside the ejector rod housing with spray brake cleaner or other volatile solvent that will degrease and dry quickly.

3. They make ejector rod clamp wrenches, but you can make your own by drilling a hardwood block, then splitting it in half through the hole.

4. Clamp the ejector rod between the drilled wood blocks in a bench vice.

5. Insert two fired cartridge cases in opposing chambers to support the ejector star.

6. Put a very tiny drop of BLUE #242 Lock-Tight on the threads with a wooden toothpick and assemble the rod back in the cylinder.

7. Hand tighten tight, but not tight enough to twist off or strip the fine threads.

8. Allow the Lock-Tight to cure over-night.

9. Re-oil the ejector rod assembly in the cylinder with light oil.

10. Put the cylinder and crane back in the frame.

If you don't have lock-tite, you can substitute a drop of shellac or nail polish.

I've had this problem with a Model 10, but have been hesitant about using lock tite, but wanted to. I'll go ahead and use this method, sounds good.
