I just took the old west gun quiz discussed in another thread. I got 70%, and was struck by the fact that each wrong answer regarding the ID of a firearm would have been correct had I gone with my initial instinctive response. Others apparently had the same thing happen to them.
THis makes me wonder--what part of the brain are we using to ID firearms? Something tells me it's closer to the part that ID's faces than it is to those parts which ID more technical items. Anyone know of any studies done on this?
