Hello everyone,

A howa trigger states to be adjustable. Can you take up the creep without decreasing pull weight much? This gun is for a 9 year old and break right at 4-3/4 lbs with no over travel but the creep is extensive. I felt as though I watched platoon while pulling the trigger.

Thanks Vince

The Vanguard trigger I have is almost exactly like a Timney. Creep is certainly adjustable but not to zilch or the safety won't work reliablily. Creep adjustment has no real impact on the weight of pull.

Don't try to get the pull below 3 1/2#, that isn't safe either.

You need a small amount of over-travel to insure clearance between the trigger and sear.

Those are not meant to be target triggers but they are really great hunting triggers if set correctly. I find that a small amount of creep and over travel with a slightly heavy trigger is somewhat objectionable at the bench but it's not noticeable in the field.
